Fall Scrapbook Retreat was a AWESOME!!

Our FALL RETREAT at Sky Lake was a huge success! We all had a wonderful time sharing ideas and creating works of the heart. I love the time we get to spend with friends, new and old,  sharing our passion for creating lasting family memories! The accommodations were very nice and the food was terrific!

We held a showcase of talents that our scrappers had worked on throughout the weekend. Votes were cast by all of our scrappers and prizes were awarded to the top 3.  I just love the creativity!! There are artists among us!!

I looking forward to our WINTER RETREAT! It will be another wonderful opportunity to share inspiration and creativity with FRIENDS!!! If you haven't registered yet, please do so! You don't want to miss it!!

This is why Scrapbooking is a Work of Heart!

Just thought I would take a minute to share what has been happening in my scrapbook room. These little beauties are Zoe and Violet, two of my sweet grand daughters. They absolutely love spending time down in the "art" room! Tonight I taught them how to use the Cuttlebug! They are hooked! They think it is the greatest tool around! They each had a huge pile of beautifully embossed cardstock!

I have to tell you that it gives me great joy to spend time teaching them how to use all of my tools and make great projects. We have made paper albums and special books. They love using the Cricut! Zoe is currently working on creating a zoo!

Scrapbooking for me isn't just preserving my precious memories, but it is about making precious memories! I hope that these little ones will continue to share my love for paper crafting and scrapbooking. Creating beautiful keepsake albums truly are a work of the HEART! Nothing but love goes in my albums!!

    

National Scrapbook Day Layouts

     Hello everyone! The weather here has been just fabulous! Blue skies and sunshine give me so much energy! I have spent most of my time outside but took the time to create a few layouts to share at our National Scrapbook Day Celebration! I used the Seasons Designer Prints paper pack and coordinating Title and Layered stickers.
      Everyone attending the NSD Celebration will receive the Seasons Designer Prints paper pack along with an idea sheet highlighting this series!

Here are the sample layouts I created. I used the idea sheet as a guide, making a few changes in order to create two page layouts! Hope you enjoy!!!

Explosion Box

                              Explosion Box

I was searching for a new project last week and decided that I would try an Explosion Box! I wanted something that was quick and fairly simple to make! And..I found it!!! Mine is fairly simple. I could have embellished it more but, I like the simplicity of it! And as I add the photos, I can add a few more  embellishments. Here are a few photos of the completed project. Keep in mind, they really don't do it justice!

 The following are shots of the inside. There are 3 different layers. I used coordinating papers but this would be a great project to do using your scraps. Your box would be very colorful!!  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We will be making one of these at the June workshop. I will share the link where I found the project. She did a fabulous job with step by step instruction. All the measurements are also available on her blog. There is also a You Tube video!

Spring Retreat at Sky Lake

I just wanted to share some photos form the Spring Retreat we held at Sky Lake in Windsor this weekend. It was a wonderful time shared by a great group of women!! This was my first experience at Sky Lake, and for those of you not familiar with the Sky Lake Camp and Retreat center...it is BEAUTIFUL! And the staff is just wonderful! Our cropping room overlooks the lake providing the most inspirational backdrop one could imagine!
                                                                       

The weekend was fun! I think everyone had a great time! I think everyone learned something new! And I believe everyone got a lot accomplished! I am looking forward to our October Retreat!! My Ballerina!

Paper crafting or scrapbooking isn't always about creating page layouts to put in our keepsake albums. Every once in a while I like to take a special photo and create something beautiful that can be displayed on a table top or the wall for all to see! So, I thought I would share a cute project that I made for my beautiful granddaughter Zoe!
                                                                           
                                                                               

 

This project took about an hour to create and once she tires of it in the frame it can be added to her keepsake album!
